Tacco Footcare The Wooden Shoe Tree
Shoe trees are a useful addition to shoe care to care for and protect shoes. You get the beauty and fit of the shoe. Low shoes and boots in particular tend to have creases that compress the material with every step due to the natural rolling movement. The foot sweat released by wearing the shoes increases the effect. If you let the shoes dry without tensioning them, the shoe will suffer irreparable damage.
There are shoe trees made of wood, plastic and foam in spiral, screw or front sheet form. For the high-quality wood variant, beech or cedar wood is preferred. Cedar shoe trees are the Rolls Royce of tensioners. In contrast to beech, the high-quality cedar wood has the advantage that the wood ensures faster drying of the shoe due to its open pores. In addition, cedar wood contains essential oils and is therefore particularly deodorizing (odor-removing, binding) and of course antibacterial. Spiral tensioners are perforated or slotted to increase breathability.
Soft shoe trees made of antibacterial foam as spiral tensioners or with a handle for women's shoes are used for particularly soft leather. Where shoe trees made of wood or plastic can cause damage through excessive pressure in the shoe, foam trees offer the discreet option to keep the shoe in shape. Therefore, foam tensioners are particularly suitable for women's shoes such as pumps, ankle boots, loafers, etc.
